This is a print of the Antikythera Mechanism. The Antikythera Mechanism is an ancient Greek analogue computer dating back to 150 BC that was used to predict astronomical positions and eclipses as well as signal the start of the next Olympic Games. It was discovered in a shipwreck off the coast of the Greek island of Antikythera. It was an elaborate collection of 30 interlocking, spinning gears controlled by turning a hand crank which in turn controlled dials for predicting eclipses and the movement of the sun, moon, and planets. Nothing as sophisticated was created again for more than a thousand years. The Antikythera Mechanism is considered to be the world's first computer.

The image is printed on professional, acid free, archival matte fine art paper giving the image rich and vibrant colors.

Canvas prints are printed with UV-protected inks on museum-grade archival canvas (390 grams/square meter). They are mounted on a .75 inch wooden stretcher frame with pre-installed metal hooks. Canvas prints come ready to hang so there is no need to purchase a frame.
